Message from Bishop
November 2000
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NAS)

In the book of Judges, the 4th chapter, we
learn about Deborah, a prophetess and a judge of Israel. She was a leader
chosen and called by God to judge disputes between families and to encourage the
people to obey God.
In Judges 4, Barak sought the word of God
through Deborah and Deborah prophesized the word of God and the instructions of
God to Barak. Barak, through his lack of faith, demonstrated that he
trusted human strength more than the word of God. Ultimately, Israel was
victorious against her enemy, however; due to his lack of faith, Barak did not
receive the glory of victory.

We are like Barak. We seek God for
instruction in how to obtain that which we desire. We receive the
instruction and charge forward. However, many times, we try to short cut
the instruction and fall short of the total victory. We tell God what we
want Him to do and we want Him to meet us in our place of need. We try to
obtain the victory an a discount price.
God wants to meet our needs. When we ask
for His help, He wants us to follow His instructions and leadership. He
wants us to meet Him were He is. To receive the total victory, He wants us
to do it His way.
Psalms 37:4 states:
"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
In the original Hebrew, "Delight thyself also" comes from the root
word, anag, which means to be soft or pliable.
Isaiah 40:31 also states:
"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
With these two verses, God has instructed us
what to do when we seek Him for assistance. We must be willing to be
flexible to do it His way and we must be willing to wait for His timing.
The time between the prophecy and the
manifestation of the prophesy as shown in Judges 4 and through the Scriptures is
dependent on you. Victory can be yours. It will cost you something.
