Message from Bishop
October 2001
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NAS)

The Wounded Servant
Why then does my suffering continue? Why is my wound so
incurable? Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook. It is like a spring
that has gone dry." The LORD replied, "If you return to me, I
will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak words that are
worthy, you will be my spokesman. You are to influence them; do not let them
influence you! They will fight against you like an attacking army, but I
will make you as secure as a fortified wall. They will not conquer you, for I
will protect and deliver you. I, the LORD, have spoken! Yes, I will certainly
keep you safe from these wicked men. I will rescue you from their cruel
hands."
Jeremiah 15:18-21 (NLT)
Serving The LORD is never easy. In Luke 21:12-13,
Jesus talks about what could happen to those who spread the Gospel:
But before all these things, they will lay their hands
on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You
will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake. But
it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.
Luke 21:12-13 (NKJV)
However, in serving The LORD, He makes promises that no man
can make:
Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come
after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for
me will save it.
Luke 9:23-24
(NIV)
No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will
refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of
the LORD, and this is their vindication from me," declares the LORD.
Isaiah 54:17 (NIV)
Knowing the promises of The LORD for serving Him, go out and
do His work as commanded by Him in Matthew 28:18-20 and in the manner as
described by the Apostle Paul in
Ephesians 6:12-13 and Colossians 3:23-24:
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All
authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in
the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:12-13 (NKJV)
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily,
as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive
the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3:23-24 (KJV)
