Message from Bishop
March 2001
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NAS)

Are you a Pillar or a Caterpillar?
Generally, there are 2 types of people in the church: Pillars
and Caterpillars. The Pillars are true to the definition of a pillar - a
vertical support, freestanding and strong. Pillars go church under Conviction.
Pillars receive the instruction of the Lord through their Pastors or
Priests. Pillars also receive the rebuke of the Lord:
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
Matthew 15:19 (NAS)
When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of
fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
(NLT)
With conviction comes Commitment. Pillars are
committed and support their church home. They give the Lord that which He asks
of them: Tithes, Talent and Time.
And I also applied myself to the work on this wall; we did not buy any land, and all my servants were gathered there for the work.
Nehemiah 5:16 (NAS)
And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:27 (NKJ)
Caterpillars are at church for their Convenience.
They enjoy the fellowship, socializing and networking. BUT, at the first
sign of rebuke, they get their legs moving and scurry out. Caterpillars are
in the church for themselves. They look for the easy path.
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them
money Acts 8:18 (KJV)
With convenience comes Compromise. Since
Caterpillars are only in the church for themselves, they make compromises to
satisfy themselves.
Be very careful never to make
treaties with the people in the land where you are going. If you do, you
soon will be following their evil ways. Exodus 34:12 (NLT)
SO, are you a Pillar
(Christ-centered) or are you a Caterpillar (self-centered)?
The choice is always yours.
