Message from Bishop
January 2002
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NAS)

New Commitment, No Resolutions
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
As we enter into the New Year 2002, people all
over are making resolutions for the new year:
"I'm not going to eat chocolate"
"I'm going to work out 3 times a week."
"I'm going to read 10 books this year."
How many people actually keep the resolutions
they vow?
Rather than make resolutions that are not kept,
make a New Commitment to Christ. 2001 was a year of great upheaval in our
world:
September 11 terrorist attacks
Falling of worldwide stock markets
Slowing economies around the world
Massive layoffs
A War on Terrorism
We cannot take for granted the mercies that God
has given us. We must stay with God and draw closer to Jesus Christ.
The Lord knew you before you were born. He died for you. He is
always there for you.
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. For His
mercy endures forever.
Psalm 118:1 (NKJV)
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
James 4:8-10 (NKJ)
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalms 139:15-16 (NIV)
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Matthew 10:30 (KJV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 (KJV)
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
Make a New Commitment to Jesus Christ. Put your trust in
Him. Whatever you do, do it as you are doing for Jesus. He will take
care of you.
It is better to trust the LORD than to put confidence
in people
Psalm 118:8 (NLT)
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
Numbers 23:19 (NIV)
And whatever you do in word or deed, {do} all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men; knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Colossians 3:17, 23-24 (NAS)
Have a Wonderful and Prosperous 2002 in
the Lord Jesus Christ!
