Message from Bishop
April 2003

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying,  "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20 (NAS)

Fear

Why do believers fear?  Why should they fear?  What is there for believers to fear?

Fear should not be a part of a believer's life.  It hinders you from what God wants to give you.  Jesus has even commanded us not to fear.

But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Luke 8:50 (KJV)

Furthermore, the LORD has already promised that He will take care of you regardless of who fights you.  Only believe in Him.  If not, the enemy (fear) can overcome you.

"If anyone fiercely assails {you} it will not be from me. Whoever assails you will fall because of you. "Behold, I myself have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings out a weapon for its work; and I have created the destroyer to ruin. "No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from me," declares the LORD.
Isaiah 54:15-17 (NAS)

How do you overcome fear?  Dwell within Him. Trust Him.
He shall deliver you. He will be you shield. He will keep you. He will preserve you.
He is here for you - Today and Tomorrow.

1    He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2    I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust."
3    Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.
4    He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; his truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5    You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6    Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7    A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.
8    Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.
9    Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10  No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11  For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
12  In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13  You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14  "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15  He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
16  With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation."
Psalm 91:1-16 (NKJ)

1  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5  The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6  The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7  The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8  The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)
